Notícias Forestis is a forest magazine published by Forestis - Associação Florestal de Portugal, since 2008, with the main purpose of dissemination information, between forest owners, general public and public authorities connected to the forestry sector.

Reflects the work developed by Forestis, forest owners organizations and forest owners in the valorisation of forest land. Displays innovative forestry projects and methods, valuable forest owner’s experiences and practices, promotes sustainable forest management, facilitates the understanding of new forest subjects and disseminates important technical information through a simple language (ex. forest pests and diseases information to available forest financial aid mechanisms).

Each issue is divided in the following categories:

• Editorial: written by the President of the Board of Directors of Forestis
• Interview: with important personalities of the forestry sector
• Brief news: from the forestry sector
• Highlight news: from Forestis,  research experts and all forestry sector
• Themes and Opinions: category open to the public (experts, forestry technicians, forest owners, and others who want to express there opinions about current themes)
• Forestis Life: presentation of Forestis work, activities, services, projects, events, news
• Organizations and Territory: displays the work done by the forest owners organizations, members of Forestis
• Technical sheet: related to important practical topics

Notícias Forestis is published every 3 months, 7.000 copies are printed and distributes for free throughout 6.300 forest owners, public administration, private and public institutions connected to the forestry sector, libraries, universities and other national and international entities. The general public can purchase it through Forestis webpage (www.forestis.pt) along with other Forestis’ technical and pedagogical products.

Forestis - Associação Florestal de Portugal is a non-profitable federation of forest owner’s organizations, created in 1992, recognized of public utility. It promotes forest owners association initiatives, sustainable forest management and represents the interests and concerns of its members within public and private institutions. Currently, represents 31 forest owners organizations that support 12.000 forest owners of 1,7 millions hectares of forest lands, with the assistance of 80 forest technicians and 59 forest sappers teams.
